Polyester vs nylon
Polyester doesn't absorb water the way nylon does, and it won't shrink when wet. It also has a rougher surface, lower elasticity, and is weaker than nylon under steady, continuous pressure, so it's a trade-off rather than a straight upgrade. Choose it when UV and wear resistance matter more than softness and stretch.
Important to know
Polyester paracord cannot be fused together with nylon paracord due to its different chemical make-up. Colours sold under the same name in polyester and nylon may also differ slightly in shade.
