PAWTEX® Webbing Maintenance & Care – FAQ
How do I maintain Pawtex webbing for daily use?For daily or light maintenance, wipe the webbing with a damp cloth using lukewarm water and a mild soap such as dish soap or green soap. Always rinse with clean water to remove residue and let the webbing air dry. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
How should I deep clean Pawtex webbing with stubborn dirt or grease? For heavier dirt, use a soft brush with a mild, pH-neutral soap solution. Oil or grease stains can be treated with a PVC-safe citrus-based cleaner. Always test cleaners on a small hidden area first and avoid soaking the webbing for long periods.
What can I do about grease build-up from dog skin and fur?Regular contact with dog skin and fur can create a greasy film, especially on light colors or matte finishes. Clean periodically with a soft cloth and a mild degreasing cleaner. Diluted dish soap is effective. Avoid alcohol, thinner, or other harsh solvents.
How should I care for Pawtex webbing after beach or saltwater use?Saltwater and sand can dull or dry out the coating over time. Rinse the webbing thoroughly with fresh water after use and allow it to air dry completely before storing. Dry metal hardware separately to reduce corrosion.
How can I prevent craquelé or surface cracking?Craquelé can occur due to UV exposure, cold temperatures, or aggressive chemicals. Store the webbing in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use only mild, PVC-safe cleaning products and never use acetone, chlorine, paint thinner, or similar solvents.
Which cleaning methods should be avoided?Avoid acetone, chlorine, bleach, thinner, and other aggressive cleaners. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Avoid close-range pressure washing and do not use steel wool or abrasive scrubbing materials.
How do I seal cut edges when making products?Cut edges may slightly fray or feel sticky. Seal edges with a hot knife or by briefly touching them with a lighter. Avoid prolonged exposure to heat above 70°C (158°F) to prevent damage to the coating.
What are the key care tips in short?Clean with mild soap and a damp cloth, rinse with fresh water, and let the webbing air dry. Avoid heat and aggressive chemicals, rinse after saltwater use, and remove grease build-up regularly to extend product life.
